  • eaten in large doses may cause oxalate poisoning.

Uses / Ethnobotanical uses:

  • leaves chewed for nausea, mouth sores, sore throats
  • fresh leaves poulticed on cancers, old sores, ulcers
  • leaf tea used for fevers, urinary infections, and scurvy
