Distinguishing features:

  • plant - 3 to 6 inches, from slender creeping rootstock
  • leaves - evergreen, egg-shaped, with smaller scale-like leaves along the stem
  • flower - 3/4 inch, dainty flower with 2 flaring pink-purple wings, petals united into a tube, lower petal tipped with bushy fringe
