     Who should apply?

    • Educators who are experience users of the Internet and who seek a more productive, engaging experience for their students.
    • Educators willing to work collaboratively. Teams may be from a grade level, may be discipline specific, or may be interdisciplinary. Individuals may apply, but preference will be given to those educators apply as a team. Teams should have 2 or 3 educators.
    • Educators who can confidently use email to communicate.
    • Educators who are creative and have experience with curriculum design.
    • Educators who have mastered basic computer skills.
    • Educators who have Internet access at multiple work stations at their schools.
    • Preference will be given to high school teams containing science and/or mathematics teachers

    College Credit Option

    Two hours of graduate credit from Aurora University will be available for an additional $100 fee. Participants may register at the training. Linda O'Connor from DuPage ROE will be meeting with you to facilitate registration.

    About the presenters...

    Howard Knodle

    Howard Knodle has taught science for 9 years. He currently teaches at Belvidere High School in Belvidere, Illinois. He holds a bachelors degree in Forestry from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a masters degree in education from Northern Illinois University. Howard is a 1996 Access Excellence Fellow, and has received awards for excellence in science teaching from the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy and the Illinois State Board of Education.

    About the presenters...

    David Jakes

    David Jakes has taught science for 13 years. He currently teaches at Downers Grove North High School in Downers Grove, Illinois. He holds a bachelors and masters degree in Fisheries Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and the University of Georgia, respectively. David is a 1996 Access Excellence Fellow, a 1995 Golden Apple finalist, and has received awards for excellence in science teaching from Argonne National Laboratory, the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy and the Tandy Technology Scholars Program.
